The Gulf Beaches Public Library is committed to providing a safe environment for patrons visiting the library. To preserve the health and safety of our community, the library has adopted a new Library Usage Policy.
- The library will be open to the public at maximum capacity of 35 people.
- Patrons will be expected to follow the CDC’s social distancing guidelines of staying 6 feet apart from others who are not in your party.
- Face masks are required for all patrons in the library
- Masks are mandatory for staff in public areas
- Safety shields have been installed at the circulation desk
- Upon entering the building, patrons must disinfect hands with sanitizer.
- Patrons will be assigned a number when entering the library and are permitted to browse the collection, use a public computer or wireless device, for up to an hour per day
- The public computers are “self-help” due to social distancing limited on staff
- If public computers are filled, patrons may make a reservation for a later time. Patrons will not be permitted to wait for a computer inside the library. They are encouraged to wait outside the library or in their vehicle. They may come back inside the library when their reservation is available.
- One-on-one staff assistance is limited
- Limited seating options will be available
- Cleaning of touch points including doorknobs, keyboards, etc., will occur daily
- Returned items are quarantined for 24 hours
- The Children’s area currently has no toys or games for children
- Programs and meetings in the library are suspended until further notice. The meeting room is closed and no reservations for programs or meetings will be accepted
- Library volunteers are not permitted to work in the library at this time
- Donations of books or other materials will not be accepted until further notice
